We won our first game vs Travis 8-1. Randy Berg led us by pitching 12 strikeouts, Aaron Martinez had 3 runs and 2 stolen bases, and Mike Garcia went 3 for 4 with two singles and a double.

We play the winner of Del Valle and Kileen tomorrow morning at 11 am at Del Valle

We won again! We beat Del Valle this morning 7-2.

Aaron Martinez pitched a great game (including 8 strikeouts), and Tyler Pinson had an amazing triple that drove in 2 RBIs. Chris Rodriguez more or less sealed the deal by driving in the final run on a great single to right field.

We play McCallum tonight at 6:30 for the championship.

Our best game yet!

We were up 12-1 after three innings when they called it because it was getting dark.

Our players did an amazing job tonight! Tyler Pinson pitched a great game, and had a triple and a double for a total of 5 RBIs. Aaron Martinez had 2 stolen bases and 3 runs.

Outstanding. Simply amazing. We beat Westlake 3-1. Tyler Pinson pitched an amazing 2 hitter, with 10 K's and only 2 walks. Our infield committed only one error, and we hit the ball well, too. Spirits are high on the JV Gold team after consecutive wins over Bowie and Westlake .

Go Eagles.

Our game was awesome... we beat Anderson 5-2. Tyler Pinson led us by pitching 9 strikeouts and also hitting a 2 run (DEEP) homer. Especially impressive was our defense, as the team committed zero errors.

Congratulations to the JV Gold team for regaining their .500 status in district play. We are now 4-4.

We beat Crockett 6-5. Not our best game- we should have beaten them by much more. Too many errors, bad decisions, too many swings at bad pitches- we squeaked by on this one.

An amazing game. We beat Hays 8-0, which served as sweet vengeance for the 3-1 loss they served us on 3/22/2005.

We played an excellent defensive game. Tyler Pinson pitched a 3-hit shutout (with 6 K's and only 2 walks), we turned a great double play to end the first inning, and in the entire game we made only 1 error.

Equally impressive was the way we swung the bat. We sent 10 Eagles to the plate, and as a team we produced 8 singles and 4 doubles.

Though it was close, the game ball should probably go to Randy Berg, who had a single, a (ground rule) double, two runs, and an RBI. Randy also jumped while on third base, causing the pitcher to flinch and forcing a balk. Smart base running.

This week is TAKS testing, so there will be no game on Tuesday. We play Bowie at home on Friday, and travel to Westlake on Saturday.

Congratulations to the 6-4 Akins Eagles JV Gold Baseball Team.

We did awful against Bowie, losing 12-2. We had only 3 hits, but struck out 9 times.

We did much better against Westlake, beating them 14-13 in the 8th inning. Randy Berg pitched 11 K's, Kyle Smith had a solo home run, and as a team we had 10 singles and 5 doubles.
