FROM THE WEBMASTER: Outmanned and outgunned, the Eagles stayed in the game with the Cougars, who have only one district loss. Following the game, Crockett Coach Thomas could be heard throughout the public facility yelling at his players.

"How could you let THOSE KINDS OF GUYS do that to you?" he screamed for everyone to hear.

The answer, Mr. Thomas, if you deserve one, is that "those kinds of guys" love baseball, and in spite of their record, they feel they have a chance. Your thoughtless slur notwithstanding, "those kinds of guys" are capable of delivering a surprise on the field. That's why we play each game between the white lines instead of just comparing prior records in an office somewhere.

Your attempt to shame your players by berating ours says far more about your own character, Mr. Thomas, than it says about the abilities of the athletes in either dugout.

NOTE: Comments on this site previously associated the behavior of the present Crockett head coach with the name of his predecessor, Roy Kinnan. The Webmaster regrets the error.
