__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Bastrop High School Bastrop County. The baseball field is not located at the high school. From Akins, go north on I-35, east on

Go south to baseball field. Be careful of a couple of sharp turns in this road. Concession stand (which is not always open) and spacious, clean restrooms. MOSQUITOS!! Bring insect repellant. The baseball field is
near the Bastrop ISD school bus facility. A very nice ball field, but be prepared for a heavy dose of diesel fumes if you’re there while the buses are being refueled. (The diesel does, however, help drive away the mosquitos.)

Access and parking for the baseball stadium are on the north side of the field. An admission fee of $3 is charged for most events. Students with IDs receive a discount.
Restroom facilities are adequate and are typically open during games. However, the concessions stand is open only sporadically, and may be closed during the game you attend. The new
operator has limited the menu, choosing not to offer many of the standard items if, in his judgment, a game may not last the full number of innings. If the weather doesn’t suit him, he may not opt to open at all. __________________________________________________________________________________________________
Canyon Lake High School Comal County. From Akins, take I-35 SOUTH. Exit 202 (Wonder World Drive - becomes Ranch Road 12). Turn RIGHT (northwest) and continue on Ranch Road 12. After approximately 11 miles, Ranch Road 12

13212 North Lamar, Austin, Texas. Concession stand bills itself as the “best in the Pflugerville ISD.” Restrooms are across the street (east) from the baseball field, under the football stadium.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Copperas Cove High School Coryell County. Bulldawg Field. I-35 north to Belton (exit 293 / Holland Rd [436]). Cross under IH 35 on 436, then take first right (Hwy 317) to connect to U.S Highway 190 West. Take U.S. Highway 190 west through

Crockett High School Austin, Travis County. From Akins, go north on South 1st Street. Turn left at Slaughter Lane. North on
Manchaca Road. Crockett High School is located at Manchaca Road and Stassney Lane. The high school baseball field is at the southeast corner of the school property, next to the railroad track and just north of
Garrison Park. Best parking and access is through Garrison Park, 6001 Manchaca Road. Enter from Manchaca Road, but do not go to the swimming pool. Instead, take the first road to the right and drive
around the south perimeter of the park. Park in the parking lot adjacent to the municipal baseball field (this is not Crockett’s field). Hike north, past the end zone of the football field (which also sees seasonal use as a
couple of little league baseball fields). From the north end of that parking lot, hike the short distance north on a dirt path along a
drainage ditch to Crockett’s field. No lights, no concessions, no restroom. Nearest restroom is located adjacent to the parking lot in Garrison Park. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________
Del Valle High School Travis County. North on I-35, east on Texas Highway 71 past Austin-Bergstrom Airport. Turn right at Ross
Drive to Del Valle High School. Baseball field is at the northeast corner of the campus. The lighting at this field is measuarably better than at Burger or Nelson. The fare at the concessions stand is basic, but the
stand itself is open during games, and that’s a plus. Restrooms are spacious and clean, but they’re located 130 yards away from the visitors’ bleachers. Don’t count on completing a pit stop between innings.

parking lot. Concessions stand, restroom facility.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hendrickson High School Travis County. Pflugerville ISD. From Akins, take I-35 north. Exit at Parmer Lane, go east on Parmer Lane to
Dessau Road. Turn north (left) on Dessau Road. Dessau Road becomes FM 685. Go north on FM 685 a little less than 6 miles. The State Hwy 130 and State Hwy 45 toll road interchange has caused relocation of FM
685. You must now cross under the toll roads to stay on FM 685. Hendrickson High School is on the east side of FM 685, just south of Kelly Lane. 2905 FM 685, Pflugerville, Texas. Enter at the school’s main
entrance. Drive around the west and south perimeter road to the baseball field. Watch for speed bumps. Plenty of parking north of the field, near the tennis courts. Limited parking southwest of the field is typically
used for team buses. Restrooms are outside the fence and across the street from the baseball field. As the sun gets lower in the sky,
it’s directly in the eyes of the fielders, who may wish to bring dark glasses for late afternoon games.

THE BASEBALL FIELD BY GOING IN THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF THE SCHOOL. Drive past the school buildings to the south perimeter road (Carl Stern). Turn left (east) on Carl Stern. Drive past a water tower on
your right. After approximately 0.4 mile, turn left (north) on W. Front Street. Take the first left into the parking lot for the baseball
field. Plenty of parking east of the field. Concession stand (not always open) and restrooms (not always unlocked) are in the cluster of buildings outside the fence that surrounds the baseball and softball fields. __________________________________________________________________________________________________

softball fields to an unconventionally-shaped but well-kept baseball yard. Adequate parking on 3rd base and 1st base sides of field. Additonal parking is available in a lot beyond right field. __________________________________________________________________________________________________
Killeen High School Bell County. I-35 north to Belton (exit 293 / Holland Rd [436]). Cross under IH 35 on 436, then take first right
(Hwy 317) to connect to U.S Highway 190 West. Take U.S. Highway 190 west into Killeen. Turn right (roughly north) onto W.S. Young Drive. After several blocks, Killeen ISD Administration building will be on

on Bagdad Road. The entrance to Leander High School is on Bagdad Rd., approximately 1.5 miles from FM 1431. Turn left onto the school property. The main baseball field is no longer the one next to the football

Lehman High School Hays County. I-35 South to Exit 215 (FM 1626 / Kyle Parkway). Cross over I-35 on Kyle Parkway. After
approximately 3/4 mile, turn right (roughly southwest) on County Road 205. Travel just 300 yards to County Road 130 (Goforth Road). Turn LEFT (southeast) on Goforth Road. Travel 1/2 mile to Lehman Road. Turn
RIGHT on Lehman Road. The entrance to the parking lot for the baseball field is a short 200 yards away on your left. Turn left into the parking lot. Restrooms are available. The baseball field itself is nicely groomed,
but smaller than one might expect for a relatively new high school. The original orientation for the field,
which was laid out with no apparent consideration of baseball, geography or astronomical geometry, had home plate located in what
is now right field. The batter, catcher and home plate umpire were all staring directly into the sun during afternoon games. Rotating
the field in its assigned space corrected the blinding oversight, but forced a noticeably smaller field.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________
Lockhart High School Caldwell County. Start by finding US Highway 183 in your favorite way. One way from Akins is to take Old
San Antonio Road south from the school, across the Onion Creek low water crossing (but NOT when it’s flooded!) to Puryear Road. Turn left (east) on Puryear Road. Turn right (south) at the I-35 access road.
Getting to FM 1327 on the other side of the interstate used to be easier before the imposition of the toll road. Follow the signs to FM 1327, and then drive east on 1327 a little more than 7 miles to US Hwy 183.
Turn right (south) on US Hwy 183 and drive to Lockhart (about 15.5 miles). Turn right and head roughly
southwest on FM 20 (State Park Road). After approximately 0.5 mile, turn right (roughly northwest) on Medina Street. Continue on Medina approximately 0.5 mile. Go past Lockhart High School; the baseball field is another three short blocks away. The entrance to
the Lockhart High baseball field is on the right. Enter and park. This field shares the Bat Cave Award with Oates Field for poor
quality and level of lighting at night time games. __________________________________________________________________________________________________
